He died of his wounds on 30 April 1917 probably received at the Battle of Arleux. He was 36 He was the son of the late George and of Elizabeth Sweetman and the husband of Sarah Sweetman of Souldern He is buried in grave II J 34 Aubigny Communal Cemetery Extension.
